A few more cool tables

These pieces are commissions built at Tony Church Furniture+Design, so they aren't technically Mountain Modern pieces, but I thought I'd throw 'em on here anyway. These were built for clients a few years ago, but I still like the designs. The drawer fronts on the end tables and the sides of the bookcase are laminated, reclaimed hardwood scraps sourced from a local sawmill.

We just finished up a new design, a writing desk.

Nikos cutting the top to size with our fancy schmantzy Festool saw system (this thing rocks!)

Me, assembling the base:

Voila!  The finished product:
Built of solid, sustainably harvested Black Walnut with a traditional hand rubbed Danish oil finish.  The drawer front is finished with a Vinyl Basecoat paint and clear coated with waterborne satin lacquer.

Neighborhood dog Bert stops by occasionally for a nap on our office sofa.

A dining table we built this spring, reclaimed barn wood top with a black analine dyed alder base.  This table was commissioned by our good friends at Terry Hurt Interior Design in Truckee, CA.

End tables/nightstands in solid walnut:

Friday, December 26, 2008

Some recent pieces we've been working on:

A pair of end tables, solid walnut.

A 4-drawer dresser, red alder.

I can't forget two of the most important members of the shop crew:

Polly Jean, part of our on site scrap wood recycling program.

Meeka enjoys modeling for photo shoots.
